The Education Refuge
A safe learning environment for students by students
Our Mission
Our mission is to match refugees in need of our services with a qualified tutor who can provide a warm, safe space for students to practice their language and develop their skills.
Our Vision
We create a comfortable and personalized learning space for refugees, using the experiences of students who know and have experienced the American Education system. Our goal is to reduce educational inequalities and help everyone achieve their goals through learning.
How It Works
Step 1
Sign up!
Fill out the Google sign up form here on the top right of our website or contact us through our email (contact@edurefuge.org) to learn more about our program
Step 2
Get Paired!
After we process your application, we will send you a list of student teachers. You will have an orientation meeting with anyone on the list. In these meetings, you can ask questions and see who you feel most comfortable with. After the meetings, you can choose the teacher who you think is the best fit for you.
Step 3
Start learning or teaching!
Sessions last about 40 to 60 minutes each week at a mutually convenient time. Have fun!
