Meet Our Team
Matthew Lee
Hi, I’m Matthew Lee, one of the founders of The Education Refuge. I am currently a Junior living in Northern California and if I am not working on this project you can most likely find me practicing serves with my team at the tennis courts or in the library reading. Since I believe that education should be high-quality and equal for anyone who seeks it, I co-founded the Education Refuge as a means to supplement the learning of those in greater need of learning support.
Anjay Singla
I’m Anjay Singla, currently navigating eleventh grade in Maryland and a co-founder of The Education Refuge. Ever since my childhood, I’ve had this fascination with tinkering and messing around with things, especially in the world of tech. Coding and building computers have become second nature to me. Outside the digital realm, you’ll find me embracing the great outdoors—whether it’s setting up camp, hitting the trails for a hike, or honing my skills in archery. This balance between tech exploration and outdoor escapades keeps my days interesting and full of diverse experiences. It’s a journey where every challenge is an opportunity to learn, and every adventure is a chance to discover something new.
Reese Park
Hello! My name is Reese Park. I’m from Texas and met Matthew and Anjay through the Northwestern CTD program! I do solo violin and work as a teaching assistant at my studio. My main job is mentor recruiting and lesson planning. I’m hoping to help as much as I can with creating opportunities for our students and our mentors.
Lucas McClelland
Hello, my name is Lucas McClelland, and I am a robotics student at Westlake High School. I have a strong passion for computer science, robotics, and all things engineering, often spending my time in the robotics lab or working on personal projects. I joined the Education Refuge program because I want to help spread my passion for technology to others who haven’t had the same opportunities. I believe that by sharing knowledge and resources to any who want it, we can inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
